NTPC Simhadri under its CSR initiative observed “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” at its Township Samyukta Function Hall on 03.12.2021 and distributed assistive aids and appliances to 62 beneficiaries of nearby villages of NTPC Simhadri. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. The beneficiaries are of different categories of disabilities and NTPC Simhadri extending its support for the past many years to lead their life in a smooth way.

During the program, NTPC Simhadri under its CSR initiative distributed Motorized Tricycles, Hearing Aids, Tricyles, Walking Aids like Wheelchair, Elbow Crutches, Rollator, etc., and visual aids in the form of Smart Cane. For children suffering from Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down syndrome and other such mental disabilities and special needs, MSIED kit was distributed.

Shri Diwakar Kaushik, Chief Geneal Manager, NTPC Simhadri, Shri G.C. Choukse, GM-O&M, Shri R.K. Jha GM-Operation, Shri SK Pradhan,GM-PPG, Shri R.R. Parida, GM-C&M and Smt. Ruma De Sharma AGM-HR, kickstarted the event in presence of CSR team.

The initiative is expected to aid PWDs in their mobility and overall physical and mental well being. It will further enable persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable world.
